MARK LEWIS
Saxophonist and flutist Mark Lewis has enlivened jazz scenes from Seattle and San Francisco to Rotterdam and Paris, and has created a vast and intensely stimulating body of music over the past four decades, including nearly 1,800 compositions. Seattle music writer Paul de Barros calls Lewis “A distinctive original” and legendary radio host Jim Wilke says he’s “a Northwest treasure.”
Recent awards include Cadence Magazine Top Ten Critics Poll for for his album Naked Animals, and #2 on alto sax (after Richie Cole) and #3 on flute (after Charles Lloyd and Hubert Laws) in the 39th Annual Jazz Station Awards for his album The New York Session, a collaboration with piano legend George Cables, bassist Essiet Essiet, and drummer Victor Lewis.
Rotterdam, the Netherlands was Mark's home base for many years. He toured and played in the better clubs throughout Europe, and taught jazz theory and improvised music classes in several music conservatories. Mark lived and performed for several years in San Francisco and Victoria, BC as well.
Music writer Ted Gioia, known as a leading global guide to music past, present and future, says of Mark Lewis: “You listen to the guys with the primo recording contracts on the very top labels, and in my opinion, they’re not in Mark’s league.”

CROATIAN
DINNER IN THE VINEYARD
IS BEING POSTPONED UNTIL ANOTHER TIME
Join us for our first-ever themed dinner! We are hosting an authentic "Croatian" Dinner in the Vineyard on Saturday, September 20th from 6-9pm! Join us for an evening all things Croatian!
This dinner will be alfresco dining in the vineyards of Olalla Winery. In our ongoing efforts to promote agritourism and sustain our agricultural industry, we will start with a walk through the vineyard with our first glass of wine and passed appetizers to educate guests on what happens in the vineyard during the different seasons (please wear appropriate footwear). Then, we will take a tour of the winery and showcase our "clay amphorae" used in the primary fermentation process of making wine. Clay amphorae were used hundreds and thousands of years ago (by the Croatians and others) and still prove to be a game changer in wine making. Finally, we will proceed to the back vineyard for the rest of the Croatian wine-paired dinner. This particular meal will be composed of authentic Croatian recipes from long ago thanks to many locals who have shared their family heritage secrets. The meal will be prepared onsite and presented by Chef Lora from The Garnishing Chef. Each course will be paired with an Olalla wine, all to be enjoyed amongst the grapevines with breathtaking views of our vines during sunset.

MICHELE D'AMOUR
AND THE LOVE DEALERS
in the LOFT
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24TH
6:30-8:30PM
What happens when you combine an award-winning poet and songwriter/singer from the Pacific Northwest with a New Orleans guitarist, a smokin' rhythm section, and a sax player with top notch r&b, funk, and jazz chops? You get Northwest-based Michele D'Amour and the Love Dealers, an award-winning blues band that delivers fun, funky original tunes as well as strong interpretations of blues classics. The band has released seven studio albums, most recently Hot Mess in October 2022, which charted internationally and won two silver medals from the Global Music Awards.
About the album, Blues Blast Magazine said, "There is a lot to like here. D’Amour’s vocals are controlled and balanced, delivering power when she needs to and offering restraint when appropriate. The electric and steel guitar work are super, the back line is steady, solid, and funky and the horns and keys add nice dimensions to the music."
North Jersey Blues Society said, ""Every band member provides style and substance to the mix...music this good is timeless."
